Each time I write a blog post so much has changed. The Marketeater is now Hertfordshire based, having left the cosy security of the mother nest to spread the wings and begin building a nest of my own. But I’d say the greatest change of all has come after being offered to work at BBH London, on the Homegrown intern scheme for 3 months. YES. This is the global award-winning agency I became aware of just this year, thinking it would be a great company to work for at some point in the future. It really didn’t come to mind that ‘the future’ would be just months later.

I recently took the IPA Diagonal Thinking Test.
The IPA is the professional body for advertising, media and marketing communications in the UK. Now, I had no clue about ‘diagonal thinking’ at the time but it basically looks at the way people think and is apparently used as a recruitment tool in the creative industries. According to the IPA ‘the most successful individuals working in adland are both linear and lateral thinkers - they think ‘diagonally.”
In a quick explanation linear thinking is to do with rational, logical thinking while lateral thinking is about generating new ideas and connecting ideas that weren’t associated previously. Explain it better please!
So working to be in the industry I took the test to see how diagonal my thinking is.
So I recently made a pact to carry out at least one arts & culture activity every month that.
Why you ask?
Well, I find it’s very easy to get into a drab routine of work, eat, sleep. Before you know it an entire month can go by with out a little change of scenery, new experiences or faces. Finding inspiration and the energy to stay motivated can be difficult to muster up at times, especially when things are a little slow on the work front.
But I know the importance of staying inspired, especially in the creative industry, and I’m kind of excited to see where this new cultural journey will take me.
So today marked week one.
Earlier this afternoon, Dior streamed the first Haute Couture show by Raf Simons for the house of Dior live via the DiorMag Website; an excellent way to engage audiences around the world. I can say that this was actually the first show of this type that I finally managed to catch online.
